Red Deer book of condolences for Jack Layton

RED DEER – The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the Red Deer District Labour Council, and the Red Deer NDP have organized a book of condolences for the loss of Federal NDP Leader Jack Layton.

The book will be available at the downtown branch of the Red Deer Public Library starting today at 4:00 p.m.

“Red Deer residents of all political stripes were shocked and saddened by Jack’s death,” said CUPE Representative Jan Valentine. “We wanted to organize a way to express to Jack’s family how much he meant to us.”

The book will be at the Library for the next few weeks, as long as there is demand for it. Then it will be sent to the family of Mr. Layton.
