Labour Day message from Marle Roberts
It’s traditional for union leaders to use Labour Day to call for better labour laws, higher wages, and safer workplaces for everyone. While the need for that traditional cry remains, this year I feel the need to move beyond those annual demands.

Dear Local executives,
In light of the devastation caused by flooding across our province earlier this year, CUPE Alberta and CUPE British Columbia have created a Flood Relief Fund to assist CUPE members in Alberta who were affected by the 2013 floods. We know that many locals have already donated time and money to a variety of funds and projects to assist in flood relief.

FORT MCMURRAY – Seventy-nine transit operators for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Transit System in Fort McMurray, are CUPE Alberta’s newest members. The Employees of TOK Transit Alberta Limited, voted overwhelmingly to be represented by CUPE.
