National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

CUPE Alberta Women’s Committee Update

Webinar

The Alberta Women’s Committee is pleased to share a video featuring Local CUPE advocates to acknowledge the importance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Monday, September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day that coincides with Orange Shirt Day, recognizing the tragic legacy of residential schools, missing children, families left behind, and survivors of these institutions.

As we honour this significance and continue to raise awareness and learn about and contribute to reconciliation, the Alberta Women’s Committee invites you to watch this webinar as part of your reflection and participation in events taking place in your community.

Panel speakers in the webinar include: Raj Uppal, Women’s Committee and Local 41 President; Debra Merrier, Diversity Vice-President, Indigenous Workers; Angela Ross, Alberta and National Indigenous Council; Kenda Jacklin, Advocate and Local 787 President; and Mira Lewis, Human Rights Representative for Saskatchewan and Alberta.
