The UCP government passed a law mandating unions to seek ‘elections’ from those who pay dues to consent to non-core activities like charitable donations. Rather than spending time seeking these forms from every member and dues payer, we’d rather spend time and energy addressing workplace issues and bargaining better wages and working conditions. However, the law requires all unions to collect these forms.
