‘Sock it to ‘em’ campaign keeps local feet warm

LETHBRIDGE – For the 11th year in a row, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) has led an effort to collect warm socks for Lethbridge and area charities.

Gail Petrie, a retired member of CUPE Local 290, has spearheaded the annual drive, which collects socks for local charitable organizations.  The socks are collected by staff, students and parents in three local school districts.

This year, CUPE will present the socks to Salvation Army, More of Less (formerly Catholic Charities), Woods Homes, Harbour House and the Homeless Shelter. The presentation will take place on December 18th.  Local media are welcome to attend.
