CALGARY—CUPE National president Paul Moist will be visiting Calgary to address local issues of privatization and to speak about pension reform at the Alberta Federation of Labour convention.
Moist will address a rally in support of keeping Calgary’s services public. CUPE 37 president Kevin Galley, representing outside workers, will also be on hand.
CUPE 37 recently learned that the City is considering privatizing maintenance of South Cemeteries, and some parks and irrigation services. Members of the public and delegates from the AFL convention will join CUPE 37 members at the noontime picnic rally.
